Any possibility to identify this Chaoborus larva form Finland? Thanks in advance.

Difficult to say withouth a detailed photo of the head showing the labral blade and mandibels. Please check this forum question: http://www.dipter...d_id=26703

It seems as if the labral blade has coarse teeth and does not have an elongated distal end, so this must be C. obscuripes. Both flavicans and cristallinus have an elongated distal end. The mandibleteeth cannot be studied but they appear to be dark.

Many thanks. Also the dorsal process of abdominal segment IX and the number of rays in anal fan seem to fit for C. obscuripes.
