Hi there,
attracted my attention by the quite loud wing sound it made. Only one shot in focus, how far can it be determined?
Found on a meadow in Lower Austria, mid June
My guesses would be Bombylius or Anastoechus...
Best,
Lorin

Bombylius or
Systoechus ;)
Anastoechus has a very different head shape :) And
Dischistus is completely ruled out. No chances of any other genus in Austria.
But my guess is
Bombylius. I don't know any species of
Systoechus with such an abdominal pattern.

Ok, thanks. I will go with
Bombylius spec. then.
