Can anyone help identify this fly? Photographed in Retama scrub.

The wing is like Seioptera vibrans (Ulidiidae) but that species has a paler head.

Thanks John. With your tip I looked up the family and it may be an Ulidia species

Indeed, Ulidia apicalis Meigen, the species with spotted wing, wide, shining black and pitted frons, and yellow halteres.Common in the W Mediterranean region.
Seioptera vibrans always have the frons red.
