I think this is Culex annulirostris? Male. Netted, Townsville, Queensland.

The colour of the abdomen suggests
Cx. sitiens is more likely, but I'm not sure how much overlap there is in these two species.

Thanks Tony. Yes I believe you are correct. The dorsal abdominal pale bands are more pronounced in the Cx. sitiens I have collected.
