Hello pengie,

Jurge is correct. The only Eupeodes or Syrphus with such a large terminalia visible from above is E. corollae.

There are always hairs on the somewhat thicker edge of the calypter, yes. They are positioned in a fringe pointing outwards. Syrphus sp. have hairs on top of the calypter pointing upwards.
