Hi,

some families are a bit tricky for me, because I don't have a good key to use. Rhagionidae belongs to them. This pecimen is not in best condition any more, two legs are missing, but I believe enough is left for id. Any idea or a good tip where to get a key ? Theo, maybe You could help ?

For me it is common Rhagio tringarius.

Hi Jari

Which date is it from ?
I agree with Libor, in Central Europe it would be tringarius. No idea what they have in Roumania.

Oh, the date is 28.7.2014. With my key I ended to tringarius as well, but would really like to know, if there is a valid key for specimens from Southern Europe. Thank You both of You !

For Rhagionidae, the best is Lindner's old key. A little out to date, with numerous "color subspecies" and invalid species, but OK for me. Of course, time to time I need to check any newly described species.

Ok, thank You. I will try Lindner :)

From an absolute point of view: Lindner is no so good.
From a relative point of view: the best there is.

So I agree with Libor, try to use it but use your own head as well !
