Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Small black Tachinidae? No: Paykullia maculata

Today in my garden in Stuttgart (Southwest Germany). A little black Tachinidae, size 5,2mm without wings.

I have no idea... help wanted.

Hello Andreas,

Cell R4+5 closes before the wing margin, yet vein r4+5 reaches the wing margin. Such a petiolate cell is, I believe, a feature of Rhinophoridae...

Well, there are many Tachinidae with similar venation, but this is indeed Paykullia maculata.
