Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Nowickia ferox?

Hi,
We just had a Nowickia thread by PeterD, and I'd like to add another one, because in a former thread of mine (http://www.dipter...d_id=14869) the ID stopped at Nowickia spec.
Here I show two flies of different localities, because I suppose them to belong to the same species (which might be wrong, of cause!). One is from southern Brandenburg, the other - it was quite a flock of them! - was seen in Thuringia. They were simply great and looked much more golden-spotted in the sun than is displayed by the photos.
So is this both N. ferox, or can other species look similar? Thanks for any explanations, Sundew

Yes, it is ferox, only one with yellow palps
