June 10. Dunes near Patara, so at sea level. Area elaborately innundated with brackish water during winter and spring, drying up in June. Sandy with sparse vegetation in some parts, large Juncus type vegetation elsewhere.

Small fly - like yellow pinhead drifting by. (2 - 3 mm)

I have a specimen of this superb little fly from Greece, i suspect this is Platypygus ridibundus but it appears to be different to the ridibundus in the gallery (from Spain?). I suspect there are two yellow species confused under this name

Thanks for both Platypygi. I'll prudently hedge them with 'cf'.

Welcome back Jorge!

Yes, it's a gem, for sure. Although you might have slightly - but just slightly - overstated your case...;)

It is not melinoproctus.
I have this species from Greece, it is ridibundus or very close to it. ridibundus is variable from orange to yellow.
