Finally I got one reliable ID from Dra. Emilia Narchuk: This is an Acrocera sanguinea. (it can be highly variable in colours, mostly they are red. Check the Isidro's Acrocera sanguinea -- http://www.dipter...d_id=15456 if you don't see the photos taken by Isidro I made a copy of them in this thread: http://www.dipter...d_id=23473.
Also check soon the Acroceridae gallery for composed photos that shows clearly the differences. You can see the page 2 of the last link to study the differences between the A. sanguinea and A. orbiculus. Both are new for Portugal. An article is on the way.)


NOTES :

* Acrocera trigramma Loew 1845 IS NO longer available. It is a synonym with Acrocera sanguinea Meigen 1804

** Also Acrocera globula Panzer 1802 is no longer available . It is a synonym with Acrocera orbiculus Fabricius 1787

*** Paracrocera genus is no longer available and now it is considered as an Acrocera.
