Hi, photographed this Mosquito biting me during daylight hours in the afternoon, in the North West UK. Habitat was grassland with boggy areas and close to a river, and woodland close by. Hoping someone may be help with the species, or at least genus level? I posted it on facebook in a Diptera group and Ochlerotatus/Aedes annulatus was suggested, but I've added more photos so hoping someone can confirm that?. Thank you! Identified as Ochlerotatus annulipes by Tony Irwin - Thank you! : ) Edited by Aedes94 on 28-08-2016 20:42 |

Yes, Ochlerotatus annulipes - your facebook correspondent must have been getting confused in his old age!
