Hi, I found this fly 2 days before (29. june 2016) in a nice wet environment on a flower. North of Ilsfeld, region Heilbronn, Baden-Württemberg, South-West-Germany. Would be nice if someone can ID this fly. Many thanks, nowaytofly

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol
