Tephritidae. The wing reminds me of the "medfly" Ceratitis capitata but it is not the same.

I suppose it's Acroceratitis, though I couldn't find a good match in Hancock & Drew, 1999 (J.Nat.Hist., 33:5, 633-775), so maybe it's still Ceratitis (no good match in De Meyer's articles, too). Try to attract attention of experts (Valery Korneyev aka Nosferatumyia),

While others can't climb, using infinite pains,
I, gravity turning to jest,
Ascend, with all ease, perpendicular planes,
Rough or smooth, just as pleases me best.

Thanks. Remind me, I shall try all the possible keys to fit the species (indeed, Acroceratitis or near)

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
