I have a question regarding Loxocera hoffmannseggi: what are the main features that differentiates this species from the other Loxocera?

Is this genus sexual dimorphic?

Just compare with this one: http://www.dipter...d_id=15265. It is by far the largest species of the loxocerines in our region and noticable darker than most. Especially pay attention to the elongate basal antennal segments, too.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
