Hi,

can someone here identify this tiny fly? I guess it came out of the firewood.

Thanks for your help!

Hi, I cannot identify this fly, but I am curious about dimensions: what does 'tiny' mean, in terms of body length? 2 mm? 1 mm? 5 mm?
Thanks
Best regards,
Carlo

Thanks a lot, Niels-Jan!

In this case "tiny" means about 1-2 mm - but I should have written this a bit earlier ;-)

Greetings,
Lennart

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
