Hi, new member here, glad I have finally joined this great forum.

I have a quick question about pinned specimens, if this isn't the right forum to post this in, then I apologize in advance. Anyway, I just thought I would ask to see if any member has a couple of spare specimens from either the Haematopota or Chrysops genus? The only species I have been able to collect myself are H. pluvialis and H. crassicornis. I don't mind paying for shipping, and pinned or papered specimens are fine.

Appreciate your time

Alex Northey

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
