Yes, Tabanidae. It is a Chrysops species. It reminds me a lot of Chrysops caecutiens but I am not expert at all. I would need to see the legs to be sure Sad

Wait for Theo, he might know for sure Smile But if you have a picture of this same specimen showing the legs, please upload it. Just to make things a bit easier for him Smile Tabanidae are very difficult and the more views, the more chances to get a final ID Smile
