Hi,

Can anyone assist towards an Id for this fly please, I am hoping that as I only have the one photo, that the unusual combination of black and white thorax and orange and black cross on the abodoman will give a clue.

Photo taken in Surrey Southern England 31st August 2006.

I would guess Graphomya maculata but please note that I'm really a novice....
