Hi,

I think this is Scatophaga stercoraria is it possible to confirm this or does it require a token, which I unfortunately don't have ?

The pictures were taken 15th April 2006 in Surrey Soutrhern England in my garden - My neighbour had recently manured his garden with Horse manure

Regards Chas

Hello, Chas!

This is Scatophaga, but no stercoraria (no dark antennae). Could be S. suilla, but better wait for the experts.

I had a similar fly some days ago:

http://www.dipter...ad_id=4951 (first one).

Unfortunately this posting has not been replied on, yet (I'm still interested, if the third fly and couple is S. furcata, thanks!).
Best regards!
