 Unknown asilid fly from La Gomera

Hi, found this nice specimen on the north-western top of La Gomera (Cumbre de Chijeré, about 700m above sea level), 8th Aug 2012. Looks typical with the white haired spots!? Any idea? Thanks, Marc Marc T attached the following image:  [159.17Kb] |

Genus Promachus and as far as I know, only Promachus gomerae occurs on La Gomera and is endemic to this island.
