Photograph taken on June 24, 2012, in housing in urban areas, Motril, Granada, Spain.
Immediate area of the Mediterranean coast.

Approximate size, no antennae or tails 3,5 mm

Female Chironomini. Might be identifiable to genus.

Looks very like a female Dicrotendipes lobiger, but could be one of a number of similar species.

It could be considered a correct identification Dicrotendipes cf. lobiger (Female). ? Smile

I can't be absolutely certain it's Dicrotendipes - just that the shape and colour matches lobiger.
