This looks like Atherix ibis to me, but are there any other European species it could be? A large number of these flies were seen sunning themselves on a shingle bank beside the lower Rio Deva near Panes in Asturias. Martin martinm attached the following image: ![]() [122.76Kb] |

You are probably right but I cannot check against images in teh Gallery because the male is still lacking from it.
