Found this fly in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Never seen this before.

It has the eyes of Tabanid, but no biting mouthpiece. A male?

Male Chrysops sp. The wing pattern is distinctive, I can try to look up the species later. There is a useful revision for the region- Burger & Chainey 2000 Invertebrate Taxonomy 14: 607-654
